After the recent announcement of Secretary Manny Pinol of the Department of Agriculture about the potential for more exports of bananas to Japan coming from the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), its Regional Board of Investments (RBOI) confirmed that the ARMM is gearing up for the challenge and is in fact already a major source of exports of Cavendish bananas to Japan, particularly from the Unifrutti Group Philippines.

The Regional Board of Investments-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (RBOI ARMM) recently conducted a “Forum on the Business Experience of Autonomy vis-vis Federalism: The ARMM Case” in Cotabato City. The forum was organized to raise public awareness on the issue of changing the present unitary- presidential form of government to federalism and to present the ARMM experience of autonomy as a baseline for federalism.
Lawyer, Ishak V. Mastura, Chairman and Managing Head of RBOI said that the forum is just timely since the Duterte administration is pushing for a federal form of government claiming that it is favorable to the country due to its diverse ethnic population and existing social pluralism. RBOI is 2016 Banko Sentral’s ARMM Outstanding Partner The Regional Board of Investments in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao wins award the second straight year as Outstanding Partner for Report on Regional Economic Developments of the Philippines (ARMM) from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). RBOI first won in 2015 and is the first agency from ARMM to receive such award.
RBOI, together with various institutions that have continuously supported the BSP’s statistical initiatives, information requirements, and advocacy programs was recognized during the 2016 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Stakeholders today, August 23 at Greenleaf Hotel, Pandan Ballroom, General Santos City.
