The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries-ARMM and other Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Officials met with BCEOM consultants and Department of Agriculture Central Office Officials on November 14, 2005 at DAF-ARMM Livestock Multipurpose Hall. The group composed the preparation for the implementation of the Mindanao Rural Development Program Phase II.
The team was led by Mr. Paul Lightfoot of BCEOM, MRDP Officers and PCO Officer-in-Charge Arnel de Mesa and Head Technical Consultant Dr. Ricardo Gloria.

Around sixty (60) Agricultural Extension Workers and Farmer-leaders from the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao attended the Trainers Training on the Prevention and Control of Aflatoxin at Biton Garden and Convention Center, Cotabato City on October 26-28, 2005.
DAF-ARMM Director for Field Operation Keise Tan Usman said that the training aims to equip the participants on the different programs and activities to prevent and control the occurrence of the poisonous aflatoxin in corn to achieve competitiveness in the market.
The corn product may be contaminated by aflatoxin due to immature harvesting, improper post harvest handling and storage, resulting to poor quality and low price of the products in the market, Dir. Usman added.

The said contest was participated by the three finalists from Division Level which was conducted last October 4, 2005. The three entries were selected based on originality, visual impact, creativity and relevance to theme.
The finalists were Reggie J. Ibanez from Parang National High School, Mohaimen Mangi of Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy, Alladin Panladang Ali from Sarilikha High School.
Ibanez got the 1st prize, 2nd went to Mangi, 3rd prize to Ali.
DAF-ARMM Regional Secretary Sajid Sangki Druz Ali together with Director for Field Operation and BFAR OIC Director Keise T. Usman awarded the winners one thousand pesos each.
The three winning entries were submitted to the Agriculture and Fisheries Information Services, Department of Agriculture Central Office for National Judging.
Ten entries will be selected winners. The best will receive P12,000 and a trophy. The nine other winners will receive, P7,000 each and trophy.
