PAO Panalunsong said that the techno demo was implemented by Department of Agriculture-ARMM for the past four months and serve as the practicum site of the thirty (30) farmers who participated in the season long Farmers Field School (FFS).

The new leadership of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has launched “a package of strategies toward resource mobilization, expenditure prioritization, and capacity building to increase the contribution of agriculture and fishery sector to the output of the regional economy.”
This thrust was given heavy emphasis by Regional Governor Datu Zaldy Uy Ampatuan in his first State of the Region Address (SORA) delivered on November 14, 2005 before the members of the Regional Legislative Assembly, the five Provincial Governors and their leagues, members of the diplomatic community, the cabinet, the academe, civil society and the military.
The Regional Governor outlined and ordered strategic but doable actions to lift ARMM’s agri-fisheries sector toward a higher level of productivity. These involve not only area expansion but more engagements in value-adding through processing for the local and export markets.

DAF-ARMM Director for Field Operation Keise Tan Usman said that the training aims to equip the participants on the different programs and activities to prevent and control the occurrence of the poisonous aflatoxin in corn to achieve competitiveness in the market.
